Did You Know

Not all aerial apparatus are made the same.

Many people assume all steel aerial equipment is identical, but there can be significant differences in the quality of the steel, tube wall thickness, manufacturing process, welding, finish, and testing.

A well-made apparatus provides a more solid feel in the air, spins more consistently, and is built to withstand the demands of regular training and performance.

When comparing equipment, it's worth asking:

  • Has it been independently tested?
  • Is the manufacturer reputable?
  • What is the tube wall thickness?
  • Is it designed specifically for aerial use?

At Aerial Nonsense, we carefully select equipment that we would happily use ourselves and trust in our own studio. When you're several metres off the ground, quality is never something we'd compromise on.

⚠Safety Reminder

Aerial arts involve inherent risks. Your safety is your responsibility.

Please help reduce those risks by following these guidelines:

  • Inspect your equipment before every use.
  • Regularly check for signs of wear, damage, corrosion, or deformation.
  • Replace equipment showing approximately 10% wear, or sooner if there is any doubt about its condition.
  • Always ensure your equipment is correctly installed using appropriately rated rigging hardware.
  • Train over a suitable crash mat.
  • Never train alone—have a friend, coach, or spotter present.
  • Only attempt skills appropriate to your experience and under qualified instruction.
  • When in doubt, stop using the equipment and seek professional advice.

Your equipment is only as safe as the way it is installed, maintained, and used. Fly smart, stay safe, and enjoy the journey.
